Production Phase

Design, meticulous preperation and correct completion of the brazing process are vital for the finished brazing result. Remember:

  • Clean the brazing surface in order to achieve the best bonding between the brazing alloy and the parent metal.
  • Flux should be applied in connection with the cleaning process.

  • Apply heat equally so that the parent metals reach brazing temperature together.
  • Apply heat to the brazing gap via the parent metal.
    (See illustration)
  • Do not overheat the brazing alloy.
  • Do not apply pressure to the brazed joint before it has cooled.
  • Remove all flux residues - these are more than often corrosive.
