Contacts of silver-tungsten, copper-tungsten and silver-tungsten carbide, Matthey D54 (10% Cd0-Ag), D55 (15% Cd0-Ag) and silver graphite are manufactured by powder-metallurgical techniques. These Metalli Metals contact materials are supplied in a variety of shapes and sizes specified by individual customers. In most cases the shapes are simple discs or rectangular pieces, but more complicated shapes are also necessary for certain designs of assemblies in circuit-breakers.

MM sintered contacts are usually supplied with one surface suitably prepared for brazing or welding. When the customer intends to braze the contact to its backing, the appropriate surface can be made silver-rich or, 

if required, flushed with a silver brazing alloy so that the eventual brazing operation will present no difficulty. For welding, the appropriate surface of a contact should have projections on it and be suitably pre-treated.
